Will I still get emails if I have the Substack iOS app?

On the Substack app, you can choose to pause email notifications or receive emails for new posts in addition to push notifications.

Tap your profile picture and select Settings.

Select "Notifications" from the menu and your notifications settings page will appear.

I don't want to receive both emails and a push notification from the app– what can I do?

Pausing email notifications prevents receiving duplicate posts so that you can focus on reading all your favorite publications on the app.

1. First ensure that notifications for Substack have been enabled on your phone's settings for the Substack app.

2. On the notifications settings page on the app, select "Smart Notifications". You'll primarily receive push notifications about new posts in the app and may receive email newsletters if you haven't opened the Substack app in a while.

If you'd prefer to receive both email newsletters and push notifications, select the "In email and app" option.

If you'd prefer to only receive posts via email, select "Only in email".
