What happens when someone restacks my post?

Restacks allows publishers and readers to reshare posts, notes, and comments with their subscribers and followers in Notes. You can restack someone else’s post on Substack with or without your own text. To restack, click the circle-arrow icon wherever you see a post, note, or comment worth sharing.

When someone restacks your post, it can appear in the Home feed of their subscribers and followers. Now, restacks can also appear in the comments section of the web version of your posts. Readers can choose between a Comments tab or Restacks tab.

Restacks are a great way for you and your readers to browse the discussion about your post happening in Notes, such as when another writer recommends your post to their readers or when a subscriber shares their favorite quote from your post.

How do I remove a restack from appearing on my post?

Just like comments, publishers have the ability to remove specific notes from the discussion section of their post. Click the three dots next to a restack and select “hide note from post” option. Additionally, any users who you have muted or blocked previously will never show up in this section.

How do I turn off this feature?
If you don't want to hilight restacks of your post, you can disable this feature on your Substack's Settings page. Scroll to the Details section and slide the toggle to the left next to "Show restacks below your posts".
