How do I report a note or profile on Substack?

Our Trust & Safety team takes all reports of violations of our Content Guidelines seriously and thoroughly evaluates them. While we can't respond to every report, we will take any necessary actions to enforce Substack's Terms of Use.

How to report a note

If you see a note or restack in the Home feed that you think violates the Content Guidelines, click on the three dots menu and select "Report".

You'll then be presented with the option to explain why you're reporting the note. Once you click "Submit", you'll see a confirmation that your note has been submitted and it'll be hidden from your Home feed.

Note: Only logged in Substack accounts will see the three dots menu.

How to report a Substack profile

If you come across a profile that you think is impersonating another user, is spam, or violates the Content Guidelines, you can report this to our Trust & Safety team by clicking on the three dots menu on a profile and selecting "Report".

Select a reason for reporting the profile: spam, impersonation, or a content violation.
